Below is an extract of the Press Release for the Dendrofilm competition that encourages students to exchange on environmental questions by using shortfilms as a medium of communication. Beaubourg financed the competition. (In French only).
C’est le mercredi 21 avril dernier qu’a eu lieu au Cégep de La Pocatière la projection des sept courts-métrages soumis par des jeunes de La Pocatière et de Montmagny au concours Dendrofilm. L’objectif de ce concours était d’offrir une plateforme d’échange sur des questions environnementales en utilisant le cinéma comme outil de communication. Les participants, professionnels ou non, devaient produire un film d’une durée maximum de cinq minutes sous le thème de l’environnement.
The first edition of the contest was marked by original and bold cinematographic genres! Anthony Hamelin won the "technical quality" award with his video "Infraction", Audréanne Dupuis was distinguished by the creativity of his production "30 seconds is enough! And Audrey Bertrand won the "environmental message" award with her work "Animal Production Under the American Reign". Each of the recipients was able to receive a three hundred dollar scholarship thanks to the generous financial contribution of Développement Beaubourg inc.
